About the Dentist

Dr. Lieberman is a graduate of the New York University School of Dental Medicine. He has been practicing dentistry in the Capital District since 1982. Dr. Lieberman says he treats people, not just teeth, and will take the time to listen to the concerns of his patients. Dr. Lieberman lives in Niskayuna with his daughters Rachel (17) and Rebekah (13). He enjoys being active in the outdoors all year round, engaging in many interests including hiking, rock climbing, bicycling, kayaking, motorcycle riding, skiing, and running. Dr. Lieberman is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD). According to the Academy of General Dentistry, an FAGD member "has been recognized by other dentists as a leader who is committed to quality patient care through continuing dental education." Dr. Lieberman is also a graduate of the Pankey Institute for Advanced Dental Education, and the University at Buffalo School of Dentistry's certificate program in aesthetic dentistry. Dr. Lieberman's professional affiliations include the Academy of General Dentistry, the Crown Council, the American College of Forensic Examiners, the Schenectady Chamber of Commerce, and the Pearl Network.

Service to the community is a large part of the Capital Smiles philosophy. The office engages in a wide range of programs throughout the year, benefiting those close to home and around the world. Here are some examples of recent projects:

  • Schenectady YWCA, Homeless and Domestic Violence Programs
  • --Holiday Gift Drive (2001 and 2002 as well as past years). Each year, the thoughtfulness of our patients brightens the holiday for homeless and abused women.
  • Smiles For Life
  • --March to June (1999 to present), the office has participated in raising over $10,000 for children's charities by donating time and material for tooth whitening. 100% of patient fees are donated to this program.
  • Save a Smile, Save a Life
  • --Oral cancer prevention program, promoting the Oral CDx brush biopsy (non-surgical) for early oral cancer detection. Money raised benefits anti-tobacco education programs for children.
